Export & Shipping from Greece – Mixed Pallets Worldwide

How we ship

• Mixed pallets. We combine products from different Greek producers on the same pallet: feta and other Greek cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, olives, honey, wines, spirits, herbal teas, coffee, drinks, spoon sweets, pasta, legumes, nuts, snacks, natural cosmetics and more.
• Low minimum order. One mixed pallet, with at least one carton per SKU. You can test a new range without buying full pallets of each item.
• Any Incoterm. We quote on all Incoterms, from EXW to DDP. You can collect with your own forwarder, or we deliver to your door.
• Export documentation handled. We prepare the export paperwork for each shipment. Depending on destination and product, this includes the commercial invoice and packing list, export declaration, origin documents, health certificates, organic certificates and excise documents for wine and spirits.
• Quality. ManaGi works under an ISO 9001 quality management system and is a certified organic exporter.

European Union and Germany

Greece and Germany are both in the EU single market, so goods move between them without customs declarations or import duties. We ship to Germany and to other EU member states. The following points still need attention:

• Labelling language. Under EU Regulation 1169/2011, each member state may require mandatory food information in its own language. In Germany, mandatory food information must be in German. We supply German-labelled products or apply compliant labels.
• Organic products. Organic goods are certified under the EU organic regulation, (EU) 2018/848. Between EU countries, no import certificate of inspection is needed, because that certificate applies only to organic imports from outside the EU. Each operator in the supply chain holds its own organic certificate, which buyers can check.
• Wine and spirits. Alcohol is subject to excise duty. Between EU countries it moves under the EU’s electronic excise system (EMCS), either duty-suspended with an electronic administrative document (e-AD) or duty-paid with a simplified electronic document (e-SAD). Excise rates depend on the product. The procedure depends on the recipient in the destination country, so we agree it with you before dispatch.
• Packaging and deposit rules. Germany has its own packaging registration and a deposit system for single-use beverage bottles and cans. We check with you which obligations apply to your SKUs.
• PDO feta. Feta is an EU Protected Designation of Origin. Only cheese made in Greece to the PDO specification may be sold as feta. The feta we supply is PDO feta from Greek producers.

United Kingdom

We ship regularly to the UK. Since Brexit, food shipments from the EU to Great Britain need customs declarations on both sides. Goods that meet the rules of origin of the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement enter without import duty. Animal and plant products are also subject to the UK’s Border Target Operating Model:

• IPAFFS pre-notification. The GB importer must notify animal-origin products and other controlled goods in the UK’s IPAFFS system before they arrive. The supporting documents are uploaded to that notification.
• Risk-based controls. The UK groups imported animal and plant products into low, medium and high risk. Controls and inspection levels depend on the category.
• Export Health Certificates. Animal-origin products, such as cheese and other dairy, generally need an Export Health Certificate. The competent Greek authority issues it before dispatch. Some of these goods must enter Great Britain through a designated Border Control Post, where they may be checked.
• Plant products. Most processed foods do not need phytosanitary certificates. Plants, seeds and some growing supplies may need them.
• Organic. At present, organic food moving from the EU to Great Britain does not need a certificate of inspection.
• Labelling. Prepacked food sold in Great Britain must show a UK address for the food business operator, or for the UK importer if the operator is not based in the UK. Wine sold in the UK must also show a UK business name and address.
• Alcohol duty. UK alcohol duty depends on the drink’s alcohol strength. It is paid at import or when the goods leave a UK excise warehouse.
• UK–EU SPS agreement. The UK and EU are negotiating an agreement on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) rules that is expected to simplify food trade. We track changes and apply the rules in force at the time of shipment.

United Arab Emirates and the Gulf

We ship to the UAE and other Gulf markets. Most registration steps are carried out by the importer in the destination country. We supply the product data, labels and documents they need.

• Product registration. Food products must be registered with the competent UAE authorities, such as Dubai Municipality for Dubai. Cosmetics and personal care products must be registered in Dubai Municipality’s Montaji portal before they can be imported or sold in Dubai.
• Arabic labelling. Mandatory food label information must be available in Arabic, and English may appear alongside it. Labels must also show production and expiry dates.
• Shelf life. Gulf (GSO) standards set expiry requirements for certain food categories, and buyers usually expect a minimum remaining shelf life on arrival. We agree this for each product before dispatch.
• Halal. Meat, poultry and products that contain animal-derived ingredients, such as gelatine, generally need a halal certificate from a recognised body. We flag the SKUs that need one.
• Health certificates. Animal-origin products such as cheese, honey and seafood generally travel with an official health certificate from the Greek authorities.
• Origin documents. We arrange the certificate of origin and any required legalisation or attestation for each shipment.
• Alcohol. In the UAE, only licensed companies may import and distribute alcohol, and the rules differ by emirate. Several Gulf states do not allow alcohol imports. We ship wine and spirits only to importers licensed for alcohol.
